Central features and functions

Connectivity

High connectivity options for various sensors (e.g. lidar sensors), video streams and, in particular, via the MQTT standard, which enables most IoT projects to be mapped.

The architecture makes it possible to start small and scale up to the maximum size, which allows customers like Wilo to use the solution worldwide. Hosting is primarily in the Azure West region and the platform is available in German.

Flexibility and added value for our customers

As Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), there are no upfront costs for customers for licenses, hardware and their own infrastructure, as the entire software is managed by us.

The platform is industry-independent and maps all IoT scenarios and use cases.

We offer Quick Start Packages which include preconfigured sensors and ready-made dashboards, for example for leakage monitoring of drinking water systems. In addition, the platform is multi-client capable, which enables municipalities (e.g. the Main-Kinzig district) to provide the solution for all connected municipalities and separate the data accordingly.

The platform fulfills all requirements for TÜV EMS energy management software certification.

Successful use cases in practice

Digitization in the industry

At Wilo, the IoTnova platform (Wilo Monitor) is used to optimize production (e.g. to identify critical components) and to develop digital products and services. The platform enables Wilo to remarket the heat pump data to affiliated service companies, allowing them to offer end customers tailored service contracts - an added value beyond the pure pump business.

Smart Inventory Supply

Together with our partner Visionval, we developed the autonomous Baulog 24 shopping container for the Würth Group, which is now in use more than ten times on major construction sites in Germany. The system uses a combination of lidar and weight sensors to automatically recognize and book products that have been removed after the worker has been identified using an access card.

Smart city and energy

We provide the central IoT platform for energy suppliers (e.g. Stadtwerke Rosenheim) to enable critical use cases such as automatic load flow calculation, dynamic pricing of PV systems or the implementation of Redispatch 2.0. In the municipal sector, we support districts such as the Main-Kinzig district in monitoring oil tanks to bundle subsequent deliveries and in applications such as people counting to measure the attractiveness of city locations.
